It is a peaceful, scenic, community-oriented area with an abundance of amenities to suit every taste.Job Description And Position RequirementsScheduled Weekly Hours: 32Work Shift: Variable days Monday-Friday 8-4:30pm; no weekends; no major holidays; 32 total weekly scheduled hoursJob Summary:The Diabetes Educator is a licensed health care professional responsible and accountable for providing diabetes education in the outpatient settings and through community and professional education services.Minimum Qualifications:Graduation from accredited program for specific field of health care professional. (Dietitian)Current state licensure.Minimum of three years clinical experience.Additional diabetes education experience highly preferred (inpatient and/or outpatient setting)Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) strongly preferred.Applicants are encouraged to successfully complete the Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist certification examination within 6 months of obtaining the required experience hours and not to exceed 2 years from date of hire.Current BLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.Certification in Lifestyle Management, Stress Management or Weight Management is encouraged.Physical Demands: Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required.
