Job Description:

• Scope:
  • Provide a certified Fortinet support resource on-site at the customer's premises.
  • Support ongoing security infrastructure operations, configuration, evolution, and troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and act as a local incident point of contact.
  • Prepare technical reports for open TAC faults.
  • Develop and maintain diagnostic/best-practice procedures.
  • Prepare and validate Fortinet configurations.
  • Provide procedures and requirements for Fortinet product upgrades.
  • Conduct network testing in the customer environment.
  • Support implementation, integration, and migration planning.
  • Provide ongoing knowledge transfer.
  • Track hardware and software revisions.
  • Develop feature/functionality test plans.
  • Assist with network diagrams.
• Roles:
  • Resident Fortinet Engineer: On-site resource responsible for the technical activities listed above.
  • Fortinet Professional Services Manager: Fortinet-side point of contact and escalation manager.
  • Customer Manager/Point of Contact: Coordinates day-to-day issues and provides direction/information to the engineer.
  • Engineer is expected to participate in relevant customer meetings/trainings to become familiar with the customer's environment.
• Customer Requirements:
  • Designate a single customer point of contact.
  • Provide a suitable on-site working environment.
  • Provide secure connectivity to Fortinet systems.
  • Provide Internet/equivalent connectivity, secure power, sufficient workspace, and air conditioning.
  • Inform Fortinet of applicable security, health, and safety requirements.
  • Assist with visas/certifications where applicable.
  • Customer remains responsible for its own network and production configuration control.
  • Maintain an active FortiCare Service Contract for relevant appliances to create support tickets and obtain software upgrades.
  • Resident Engineer support generally applies only to generally available products/software releases unless otherwise agreed.
• Equipment:
  • Fortinet provides the engineer with a mobile phone and laptop .
  • Customer provides the engineer's desk/office space.
  • Customer bears travel expenses for locations outside the designated work location.
