This company is looking for a hands-on Fortinet Engineer to join its Las Vegas team, responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Fortinet-based network and security infrastructure. Responsibilities:

• Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Fortinet FortiGate firewalls across customer and internal environments.
• Manage firewall policies, NAT, VPNs, routing, HA, security profiles, and access controls.
• Support and troubleshoot IPsec and SSL VPN technologies.
• Configure and manage Fortinet solutions including FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSwitch, and FortiAP where required.
• Perform network troubleshooting across LAN, WAN, switching, routing, and security environments.
• Assist with firewall migrations, upgrades, implementations, and optimization projects.
• Monitor network and security infrastructure and investigate performance or security issues.
• Participate in incident response and troubleshoot connectivity and security incidents.
• Work with customers, internal teams, vendors, and other engineers to resolve complex technical issues.
• Document network configurations, changes, troubleshooting processes, and technical solutions.
• Follow best practices around network security, change management, and infrastructure reliability.
• Stay current with Fortinet technologies, networking trends, and cybersecurity best practices.

Skills/Must Have:

• Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, and subnetting.
• Experience with firewall policies, NAT, VPNs, and network security concepts.
• Experience troubleshooting complex network connectivity and security issues.
• Knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF is highly desirable.
• Experience with IPsec VPNs and SSL VPNs.
• Familiarity with Fortinet centralized management and monitoring tools.
• Ability to read and understand network diagrams and technical documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Desirable Skills:

• Fortinet certifications are strongly preferred but not required.
• Fortinet Certified Associate (FCA)
• Fortinet Certified Fundamentals (FCF)
• Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) – Network Security
• Fortinet Certified Solution Specialist (FCSS)
• Fortinet Certified Expert (FCX)
• Other relevant networking certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper, or equivalent would also be beneficial.
• Experience working for an MSP, VAR, systems integrator, or technology services provider.
• Experience supporting multiple customer environments.
• Experience with Fortinet deployments, migrations, and upgrades.
• Exposure to Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Aruba, or other enterprise networking technologies.
• Understanding of cloud networking and security technologies.
• Experience working within structured ticketing, change management, and documentation processes.
